Central Coast Resort wins prestigious NSW Meetings and Events industry award
Mercure Kooindah Waters Central Coast at Wyong has been recognised as the ‘Best Meeting Venue under 500 delegates’ for the second year in a row, winning that category at the prestigious 2011 NSW Meeting and Events Industry (MEA) awards.
More than 350 industry professionals attended the awards event, held at Sofitel Sydney Wentworth on Wednesday 14th March.
“It’s a huge honour and great achievement for Mercure Kooindah Waters Central Coast to be again recognised with such a highly sought-after award, while competing against some of the most successful venues in NSW,” said Jessie Sheehan, General Manager Mercure Kooindah Waters Central Coast.
Other New South Wales winners at the MEA awards included Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre and CI Events.
“It is important to acknowledge the hard work of the dedicated team of professionals at Kooindah Waters and our partners in the local tourism industry. Together we have raised awareness of the Central Coast as a premier destination for meetings and events,” said Ms Sheehan.
Mercure Kooindah Waters Central Coast is now a finalist in the National Awards which will be held in Sydney in April.
The MEA awards recognise excellent business practice in the Meetings & Events Industry and reward those who achieve outstanding results. MEA is a national organisation dedicated to fostering professionalism and excellence in all aspects of meetings management. The organisation promotes the value of meetings as a high-yield sector of business travel and tourism.
Mercure Kooindah Waters Central Coast features six light filled, purpose-built meeting venues with contemporary break out areas, a dedicated co-coordinator for each event and outstanding resort facilities, including Karinyas restaurant and wine bar.
