The Hunter Valley

The Hunter Valley, just over 1.5 hrs north of the Central Coast is one of Australia's major wine-growing regions, with a viticultural history dating back to the early 1800s. Known for varietals such as Semillon and Shiraz, The Hunter Valley is home to well over 100 vineyards. Most are located south of the Hunter River and operate cellar doors so the public can sample their bottlings. A beautiful day trip from the resort, The Hunter Valley offers a variety of attractions for all ages perfect for a relaxing getaway.  At Hunter Valley, you can also be adventurous and go on wine tasting tours.

The Australian Reptile Park

Visit this interactive zoo to get up close and personal with a wide range of furry and scaly critters. Stroll with Hugo, a giant Galapagos tortoise. Watch Elvis, NSW's crankiest crocodile, being fed. View native and exotic reptiles and spiders in their unique exhibits. Hand feed kangaroos or have your photo taken with a python or koala.

TreeTop Adventure Park

Certainly not for the faint of heart, TreeTop Adventure Park is place where participants rocket down flying foxes, jump from tree to tree on suspension bridges and enjoy many other exciting activities 15 metres above the forest floor. There are 115 challenges including 20 flying foxes, the longest of which is 200 metres.

Wyong Milk Factory

Visit this working dairy farm to sample award-winning offerings from a cheese and yoghurt producer along with handcrafted gourmet chocolates. After tasting the treats, take a self-guided kayak or rowboat hire down the river, stopping along the way to enjoy a relaxing picnic by the water. Best of all? Admission is free!

Wyong Race Course

Constructed in 1875, this horse racing facility remains today as the best and safest track in New South Wales. In the spring, the track hosts the two-day Wyong Gold Cup Carnival, with the feature race being the 2100m Wyong Gold Cup.
